Was Just Thinking

In one scene from the the movie Warlords, Andy Lau's character was at knifepoint when he said:

'If you kill me Shounzon will be in bloodbath.'

The guy holding the knife then responded:

'I have the same number soldiers. They would surely defend this place until the end.'

Several things ensued which would further make the events seemed 'epic'. But then I was just thinking. If I were in Andy Lau's place, I would have:

Nodded, carved a little smile, and said, 'hence, the bloodbath', with hand gestures and all.
Maybe it could cheer up the situation a bit no?
